Referrals, Letters and Reports

  • When referring you to a hospital department your doctor will usually send a letter directly to the consultant.
  • Occasionally however, if the appointment is an urgent or private one, you will be asked to collect a letter at the reception desk.
  • Some examinations and reports are not covered by the National Health Service and a fee will be payable. A list of standard British Medical Association fees is available from reception. Please ask the receptionist if you are not sure.
